Wilkes Barre to Mechanicville symbol is departing Lanesboro, PA. with plenty of units on line. At the time the magazines lauded EMD SD-24s and Alco DL600bs, having 2400 HP, tackling western geography. For a brief season, however, thanks to the Century 628's additional 350 horsepower, D&H, fans had no doubt which road and which builder had the true "Big Power."
