A few months later, the community would host the first edition of Steamtown. It was a good year for passenger traffic on C&C. This was a Contoocook to Claremont, Jct. roundtrip.
My Grandfather used a Kodak box camera to make this shot of the train bearing his grandson.

It was unknown at this time that the tank spout valve was rusted shut. Disused water tanks typically were kept full of water so they would not dry out and come apart
