Conrail at South Station

During the year that Conrail was the contract operator of the MBTA's South Side commuter service, a couple Conrail-owned ex-NYC E8s usually supplemented the MBTA's own ex-PRR Es. On the final weekday of CR operation, 4039 led a Framingham train out of South Station. Former NYC units could not lead on the corridor due to their lack of cab signals.
