Office building for International Paper in Wilder VT

Originally posted as an unknown, a fellow rail fan, W. George Cook, had an old post card showing the office and its location. He shared that the line in the foreground is a 2' narrow gage line serving the mill. The mill was served by the Boston & Maine Conn River line. The mill site is now gone and part of the water impoundment behind the "new" Wilder Dam.

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

Just want to provide an update for my unknown photo. Mr. W. George Cook contacted me with the data I needed to fill in some of the blanks. The beautiful stone structure is the office building for International Paper in Wilder, VT. The rail line in front of the building is a 2' narrow gage line that served the mill. As it was located in Wilder it was served by the Boston & Maine line to St. Johnsbury, VT. When the 'new' Wilder Dam was built in the late 1950s just downstream of the old mill site most of this area was put underwater as part of the dam impoundment.
