P & W Gardner-Worcester (GRWO) Train

On the trip back from the "Big E" train show, last weekend, we made a stop in Gardner. Never checked out anything there before. The P&W had a somewhat longer stop, blocking some area crossings for about an hour waiting for Pan Am's ED-8 to finish out switching duties. The end result was a lengthy GRWO train, loaded with autoracks, along with some mixed freight. Here was the train, just about to pass across the Whitney Road crossing in Gardner. Here were two pre-G&W, P&W painted engines with B39-8's 3903 and 3905 leading, near dusk on Sunday afternoon.
