MEC 7643 and 7523 (C40-8's) lead ED-9, with a train composed mostly of empty covered hoppers from Fitchburg and empty vegetable oil tank cars from Ayer, west thru Gardner on track 1, the only track available as a set out for the P&W was occupying track 2.
