The Roundhouse

The former Central of Georgia roundhouse and shop complex in Savannah, Ga. dates to the mid-1800s, and most of the facility survived when Southern Railway closed it after acquiring the CofG in the 1960s.

The complex now houses the Georgia State Railroad Museum, which also preserves a diverse collection of rolling stock of several railroads that operated into the Savannah area.
