before the Valley Railroad

Between 1966 and 1968, the Connecticut group that would be instrumental in founding the Valley Railroad tourist line ran a series of fantrips on New Haven RR trackage using privately owned ex-Birmingham & Southeastern 2-8-0 200, now Connecticut Valley 97. Here one such trip enters the station at Waterbury, CT, where a crowd has turned out to see this Hartford-Derby run. The 97 is now on display on the VRR at Essex.
