The New Wilmington Junction

Here MBTA 209 bound for Haverhill races through the new Wilmington Junction. It looks as if it is on the single track that was there before, but it is on the new East rail. The track to its immediate left is the new Wildcat lead. The track in the foreground is an out of service MOW siding which was the old connection to the Wildcat. This train and all other Haverhill bound via Reading trains stay on the new East track until Lowell Jct. Ballardvale Station is still single track and is the new pinch point. The signal turned sideways on the right on the signal bridge is for any future double tracking from Reading and Wilm Jct.
