THROUGH A NORTHERN MICHIGAN FOREST

E. Carrington Eddy owned a large forested area near Fairview, Michigan. He was a railfan who built this 4-6-4 oil fired locomotive, as well as a wood burning SHAY. He ran them over his 2 1/2 mile 16" gauge PINCONNING AND BLIND RIVER RAILROAD. On weekends in the summer he carried passengers. through dense woods populated with deer and other wildlife. At other times he hauled timber logged from his property.. The little railway not only was fun for visitors to ride but also performed useful work for its owner.
