the Stockyard

For many years the Stockyard Restaurant on Market Street in Brighton featured a former New Haven grill car that had been attached to the building as a lounge. The lead E8 on the westbound Lake Shore put down a smokescreen as it passed. Forty years later, the restaurant is still there, but the car has been gone for quite a while.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, August, 1977.
