A pair of Vermont Railway light engines are seen bursting through a snowbank at Arlington, Vermont on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. The light engines ran from Rutland down to North Bennington, then made a trip down the branch to Hoosick Junction. The towns along the line received between 18 and 30 inches of snow from the March 14th blizzard. Luckily the VTR did not run a ballast machine fitted with a plow to clear ahead of the train - which they often do right after a big snowstorm. I was able to grab some good action shots along the way. The blue and white GATX engine is a lease unit.
