The heartbeat of an ALCO

A look inside the rocker box of an ALCO 539. The exhaust valves are to the left, intake valves to the right and the injector nozzle is in the center, the fuel lines leading to the injector can be seen. The lower line is the high pressure fuel line, above that is the leak back line to the fuel tank. The head bolts can also be seen, they require 800 foot pounds of torque!
