Heading for the junction.

On a crisp Saturday afternoon, Pan Am EDRJ rattles it's way out of the wooded shadows past the Schenectady International plant for Rotterdam Junction. The small freight caught the photographer completely by surprise as it attempted to sneak around my parking spot on the old Rotterdam Branch for it's terminus at the Junction. The train, led by one of the few surviving high short hood GP40s still in weathered Guilford paint the MEC 380, approaches Route 5S with three other war wagons in tow. Behind the MEC 380 is an equally rare gem; 'the smurf' GP40-2W MEC 511 in a one of a kind Pan Am paint scheme as well as GP40 MEC 321 & former HLCX SD40-2 MEC 615. The weary looking '380' would be used for the RJ-1 local duties later in the work week.
