PanAm Southern RJED-EDRJ meet at Eagle Bridge -- Tuesday March 22, 2016In a rare appearance on the west end, "smurf " 511 is trailing on the problem-prone RJED that is heading eastbound past the waiting EDRJ at Eagle Bridge NY. Issues for the RJED started back in Mechanicville with a possible blown turbo on the second unit and dead batteries on the leading 615 -- this train will limp and can at the end of double track at Hoosick Junction to await "medical help" from the "Diesel Doctor." Closely following the RJED is RJ-1 with solo unit MEC 380 expecting to go up the branch to North Bennington for interchange cars off the VTR. That plan "capsized" a short time later after the VTR collided with a dump truck at State Line. The 608 led EDRJ was able to continue west once RJ-1 cleared on the adjoining track. Not a very good day to be sitting in the dispatcher's seat.
