WW&F Ry Locomotive #9

This is the restored Portland Company Locomotive (1891) of the Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington Railway Museum. This is the result of a 9 year restoration, that included construction of a new boiler, frame, restored original wooden cab, and a replicated Russia Iron jacket, using iron sheets, polishing and bluing. It was test fired Friday, 12/4/15, deficiencies noted, repaired, and fired again Saturday 12/5/15, running under it's own steam power for the first time since 1933.

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

This is an original WW&F locomotive. It was stored in eastern Connecticut for years, inside.
