Old Rail in CT

This is the oldest rail I've ever come across: It reads "Barrow Steel_1872:74". I found this under the current Amtrak Northeast Corridor line in Groton, CT and helps support a 4' tall tunnel under the two tracks. From research this was made in Lancashire, England where they shipped these rails world-wide. The thickness of the rail is just shy of 2".
