VTR B&R action -- Wednesday March 18, 2015Appearances can be deceiving.
The power jinx for the VTR continues -- the northbound return trip on today's B&R job features the 312 and 303 duo. The lead unit (312) experienced a gasket failure (??) on the trip south and is "deader than a doornail." As the "Lone Ranger" for power, the 303 is "screaming for mercy" with 21 cars in tow and pushing the "bookend" in front since once again picking up the interchange cars at Hoosick Junction. PanAm Southern's EDRJ did an overnight drop of 41 cars total on the wye, but because of the VTR power issue 20 had to be left behind on the west leg, 17 of them desperately needed empty tanks for OMYA. AD-1 never showed today, but appears to be scheduled for a late Wednesday overnight attempt to try and clear some of the outbound congestion in North Bennington.
