Venerable VTR 301 leads GMRC 305 and GMTX 9000 north through East Dorset Vt. on the frosty Friday afternoon of January 16th. This set of Thursday's power spent the overnight languishing as a "guest" on the Whitman Feed Mill spur in North Bennington when the connecting PanAm Southern train failed to timely arrive. The VTR crew that taxied from Rutland Friday morning hustled to Hoosick Junction to grab cars dropped by an overnight EDMO, and also tack on those arriving in a one-on-one meet with AD-1, making for a substantial train. Normally there would be a quick return round trip by the unscheduled northbound but due to the lateness of the day that option became similar to a "rim shot on a trash bucket."
