BML#50 Heading Westbound from City Point

BML#50, a 70-ton GE diesel electric locomotive built and bought new by the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad in 1946, as it headed westbound just after the Oak Hill Road grade crossing (MP 2.3) on its morning Independence Day run from City Point (Belfast) to Waldo, ME. In the 68 years this locomotive has been running over the 33-mile BML grade (opened in 1871) from Belfast to Burnham Junction trough rural Waldo County, ME, it has traveled enough miles to have made at least two trips to the Moon and back!!
