Northern Central 44 Tonner

Although lettered for Northern Central, the 44 Tonner is in Stewartstown colors and is used as a backup yard engine. The Northern Central was built in the 1830's and linked Harrisburg, PA south to Baltimore, MD. It became part of the Pennsylvania system. In 1974 a major hurricane flooded the line and Maryland pulled up all the rails from the state border to Baltimore. The PA section is active above York and deliveries are still made above Hanover Junction.
