An MBTA passenger extra rolls northbound past the historic Canaan Union Station at Canaan, Conn., on Monday morning, July 29, 2013. The train picked up passengers at State Line (Canaan/Sheffield) and continued north to Pittsfield, MA. where a press conference was held at the wastewater treatment plant grade crossing. Passengers included Gov. Deval Patrick and HRRC President John Hanlon. The train was a VIP promotional tour to highlight the need to obtain funding to upgrade the track in Mass. - part of a proposed Pittsfield/New York City passenger plan.
