Augusta

This is the site of a recent de-rail by Civies Steel in Augusta, Maine. Pan Am still serves the Steel Plant along with Blue Seal Feeds about 3 times a week. I chatted with a track inspector about the possible use of this rail being used for passenger service expansion of the Amtrak Downeaster. First of all an inspection of the complete line from Brunswick across the Kennebec Rail Bridge and onto Waterville would have to be done first.
