Here is the north end of the Downeaster, facing the mainline to Augusta, Waterville and Bangor, and the branch to Rockland. Perhaps the day will come when the Downeaster will continue eastward or northward from Brunswick. When I was a kid in Brunswick in the 70's, I never would have believed I'd see the day we'd have Amtrak - or any passenger train for that matter - in my hometown! So who knows, maybe it will get extended in the future?
