Chuggin' Toward The Tunnel!

Springfield Terminal (Guilford) SD26 647 leads a short and fast westbound freight train towards the east portal of the Hoosac Tunnel in the town of Florida, Mass. in October 1990. This was period when Guilford shut down most of the west end and traffic was largely routed via Conrail and Worcester, MA. I spent a week's vacation at this location, from sunrise to sunset, and I only saw two trains during the daylight hours. Needless to say I didn't bother much with railfanning this line in the early 1990s.
