Along the Route of the Southern New England

Along West Main Street, Dudley, east of Center Road. Looking like a pile of dirt with trees growing out of it, this is the eroded SNE embankment from 1912-15, which looped around the hills of Dudley in order to avoid the Connecticut border, where the SNE could not build. Thanks to Larry Lowenthal's book "Titanic Railroad" and its many detailed maps.

Railroad: Titanic Railroad.
