No Balls ??????

At one time, Northern New England and, especially in Vermont and New Hampshire,
were dotted with ball signals at important junctions. The last in service one was located in Whitefield. NH protecting the diamond of the Maine Central's Portland St Johnsbury, VT and the B&M's Berlin Woodsville routes.
A recent inspection by Rail Dog Reagan and her assistant Ben revealed that one ball is missing and the other is inoperable due to the the pulley system in disrepair.
There is a preserved High Ball Signal on display at the North Conway Railroad Station
