REACHING OUT White Mt Central

During the annual Railroad Days event a train consisting of four empty log bunks is operated. A "reach is used to connect the bunks to the locomotive which is equipped with a modified knuckle to accommodate a link and pin coupler. Each log car consisted of two sets of bunks which could be separated at various lengths with wooden "reachs" to accommodate logs of differing lengths. The log bunks also have link & pin couplers. So far no White Mountain Central RR employees have lost any fingers when coupling a log train.
