Tri-Rail F40PHM-2C 808

If this does not look like the Miami skyline there is a good reason. In 1992 Amtrak, CSX, Tri-Rail, Bombardier and Morrison Knudsen cooperated to run a test train of Tri-Rail equipment, Amtrak conference car 9800 and CSX inspection car 318 out of Tampa. Commuter rail in Central Florida would take another twenty years to become a reality, albeit out of Orlando not Tampa.

Photographed by D.Carleton, November 12, 1992.
Added to the photo archive by Daniel Carleton, September 17, 2011.
Railroad: Tri-Rail.
