CANADIAN PACIFIC P2j MIKADO 5449 AT ST.LUC MONTREAL

Canadian Pacific P2j 2-8-2 5449 is starting a freight out of the St.Luc yard in Montreal. The Mikado was one of twenty-five Mikado's built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1944; a dozen more were built in 1948. The CPR also had 32 other 2-8-2's built in 1940 and 1943 which provided a stable of modern Mikado freight engines to supplement a large number of older freight engines.
