CANADIAN PACIFIC HUDSON 2816

Canadian Pacific H1b 4-6-4 2816 is being serviced for an afternoon commuter train at the Glen engine terminal in Montreal on June 15, 1959. The wash pad is in the foreground but 2811 didn't get a cleaning this day despite not looking her best. That cylinder head is dirty and the boiler jacket needs a rubbing down -- passenger power was usually relatively clean even though steam had only a year to work. She is the oldest steamer in passenger service this afternoon (MLW 1930) -- the numerous Pacifics at the engine terminal were built in the 1940's. The Hudson has been preserved in operating condition.
