After spending the last decade in storage on the RMNE/Naugatuck RR, CDOT turned ownership over to the Museum in 2009. Since the locomotive's heritage was not germaine to the museum's scope, they were put up for sale. In 2010 the Galveston Transportation Museum expressed an interest and sent representatives to "kick the tires". They decided to acquire them and the F's left the property on May 13, 2011.
