Funeral Train Part Two

Mr. Edward M Clark served in the United States Merchant Marine during and after WWII. The tall brass cylinder that is seen on the rear of White Mountain Central #6 Climax is a whistle he obtained from one of the Liberty Ships that he served on. Mr.. Clark saw action on D-Day at Normandy and on the horrific Murmansk Run on Convoy PQ-17.
Just prior to departure of the train the ship's whistle was blown. The train then departed at almost a walking pace and traveled to a point north of the covered bridge where the casket was removed and taken to the grave site.
