The 1239 is backing onto its train in the yard at Crewe. As the train departed this photographer spotted a smoking wheel bearing and, as the caboose rolled by, gave the conductor the fingers to nose jesture which he saw and acknowledged. They set out the offending load at the first side track east of Crewe.
