Class A With Empty Coal Train at Petersburg, VA

A westbound N&W coal train is just east of Petersburg and will shortly take the bypass route around the west side of the city. During this era most coal trains, loaded and empty, were handled by a single class A and averaged 175 cars. A sight to behold!
