P&W works around derailment

P&W 3901, 3008 and 2215 start to move east across Bridge St. in 'the thread city' with cars from the old Airline track. The P&W's Willimantic Branch runs south-east out of that city, roughly parallel to the NECR for a few miles, and then turns east toward Plainfield. The decision to reopen the 'Willi' branch several years ago paid dividends this week, permitting continued movement of cars from New London north (partially over NECR trackage) in spite of a derailment which closed the P&W Norwich Branch between New London and Plainfield.
