Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 "Challenger" #3985 highballs past the west switch of the passing siding at Dodson, Ore. on its way to Portland with a "Pacific Limited" excursion.

The big steamer led a train of UP's classic rolling stock, including two auxiliary water tenders and a trio of E9s in A-B-A formation.
