PAS MOAY at Mechanicville, NY

Pan Am Southern MOAY rolls through Mechanicville, NY with solid UP power at 1:11 pm on Saturday, 04/03/2010. Judging from the nose of the lead unit, it looks as though the train was involved in some kind of encounter with a paint can. The fact that the train was running almost five hours late is indicative of some kind of incident while enroute. Apparently, the new crew boarded at Mohawk (instead of Hemstreet Park - the usual crew change point) as the train rolled non-stop through Hemstreet Park and on to East Deerfield in an attempt to make up time. One final note: the train was huge and was easily over a mile-and-a-half in length. This bodes well for the Patriot Corridor when the economy finally rebounds.
