Double Metrolinks

Metrolink MP36PHs #896 and #892 are awaiting the call to duty at Los Angeles Union Station. These are two of Metrolink's newest locomotives, part of an order from Motive Power Industries of Boise, Idaho.

Metrolink's locomotive fleet also includes three EMD models, the F40PH, F59PH and F59PHI. The agency's F40s are former Amtrak units; two of its F59PHIs were originally ordered for the ill-fated "Marlboro Unlimited" cruise train back in the 1990s and sold to Metrolink after the train's construction was cancelled.
