At the annual Antique Machinery show at Haddam Meadows State Park in Haddam, CT, Friends of the Valley Railroad
offer speeder, hy-rail and hand car rides to the show's visitors. This is a fund-raising event for the non-profit Friends, and is very popular. The equipment operates on a section of the Valley Railroad line not yet opened for train operation, so this is rare mileage. When not used for giving rides, the car's owner, Tom, often uses it for
work on the track.
