NORFOLK & WESTERN SWITCHER AND PUSHER

I first shot a Class A 2-6-6-4 on the head end of this eastbound coal train viewed from the 5th St. (Park St.) bridge in Roanoke, Va. while an S-1 0-8-0 was running along side at a slower speed and slightly behind. I then moved across the street to get this shot of the Y-6 pusher and the ex C&O switcher which is still moving up the yard lead but has been nearly passed by the long coal train which is moving fairly fast on a favorable grade. The line of box cars is at the freight station that is now the Virginia Transportation Museum.
