CN 6218 ON THE CENTRAL VERMONT

Canadian National 4-8-4 6218 was shot during the run-by at Montague, Mass. (milepost 96) on May 29, 1966, about nine years after the CV ended steam operation. The occasion was a New London - Brattleboro fan trip. CN 4-8-4's were used on the CV but not on the Southern Division. The steepness of the grade is an optical illusion caused by my position and the curve of the rear cars.

Photographed by Edward Ozog, May 29, 1966.
Added to the photo archive by Edward Ozog, August 23, 2009.
Railroad: Central Vermont.
