NEW HAVEN ALCO PA-1's AT BOSTON SWITCH

The westbound shoreline express is at the Boston Switch in Central Falls, RI. SS 156 is to the left of the signal and the track on the left is the Providence & Worcester line. The P&W was the first RR through here and when the Boston & Providence built a connector to here from East Junction it was forced to build a relatively sharp curve at the west junction named Boston Switch.

Photographed by Edward Ozog, 1956.
Added to the photo archive by Edward Ozog, August 9, 2009.
Railroad: New Haven.
