CV AT MILLERS FALLS 1954 - MY FIRST FANTRIP

Central Vermont N-5a 2-8-0 464 is on a photo runby in May 1954. A junior high classmate saw a flyer at the depot for a steam trip to Brattleboro and three of us kids took the train to South Station Boston where the trip left over the NH for Willimantic and the waiting 2-8-0. At Millers Falls we were given time to get to a highway bridge to shoot the train crossing the river. The photo was shot with a fixed lense Kodak and although the negative was lost, my scanner got a fair copy of a low-grade drug store print that has survived for 55 years. I'm glad I made it to the digital age.
