June 30 2006 marked the end of RailAmerica's E&N Railway. With ownership passing to the Island Corridor Foundation and operations being taken over by the Southern Railway of Vancouver Island.

Shortly before SVI's start up, GP9's 110 and 119 arrived at Nanaimo. The RailAmerica GP38's were parked for good on Friday, June 30th and the SRY GP9's were fired up for the first time Monday, July 3.
