PVs in Portland...

Four private railroad cars -- former New York Central #3, Missouri-Kansas-Texas #403, Milwaukee Road #53 "Super Dome" and MILW #31 "Minnesota River" -- are at Portland, Ore. Union Station June 30 waiting to head east behind the city's own former SP GS4 "Daylight" 4-8-4 #4449.

A crew from North Star Rail, which owns the two former MILW cars, is giving the big dome lounge a thorough washing before the long cross-country trek.

The PVs were part of an 12-car train lead by the 4449 and a supporting Amtrak P42-9DC that left the Rose City July 3 en route to Owosso, Mich. for the Steam Railroading Institute's annual Train Festival.
