Greenwich & Johnsonville bridge piers

The bridge piers that once helped carry the Greenwich & Johnsonville across the Hoosic River at Johnsonville, NY still stand roughly 80 years later. This particular line was abandoned in August 1932 in favor of a new route that was built from Greenwich to a connection with the Delaware & Hudson just south of Salem, NY: Greenwich Junction. This "new" route is still in service today under the Batten Kill Railroad.
