A westbound CSX grain train highballs past Guy Park in Amsterdam, NY at 2:36 pm on Saturday, 05/02/2009. Guy Park is about a mile west of downtown Amsterdam (and about a half a mile east of the Amsterdam Amtrak Station) and is a great place to relax and watch the show. It is a family oriented public park, and railfans can not only enjoy the trains, but also the boats being raised and lowered in the adjacent lock along the Mohawk River (which is part of the old Erie Canal). Best of all, the location is "hassle free" from Amtrak's new absurd (and probably illegal) policy of prohibiting photography from its station platforms.
