McAdam, N.B......May 01 / 09....No. 1

NB Southern's St. Stephen Job completes its journey into the McAdam Yard. Along with the dull, overcast weather, there is a tinge of sadness in today's consist.

Due to the closing of the Domtar Paper mill in Woodland, Me., Pan Am Railways has pulled out the last remaining equipment from it's " isolated " Calais - Woodland branchline ( through interchange partner NB Southern ) , effectively ending the last remaining rail service in the Calais Me. area. The remaining cars from the former MEC branch, included 9 boxcars, a snowplough lettered for MEC, # 73 , and GP- 40 # 321. In a few hours, NBSR's mainline westbound into Maine, will pick up and deliver the Pam Am traffic to Mattawamkeag, Me.
