Port Jersey #1197 [SW1200]; Jersey City, NJWhile enroute to the New York New Jersey Rail float bridges (ex PRR, ex BEDT) located in Greenville, NJ; I ran across Port Jersey Railroad performing some switching duties alongside the warehouses located alond Port Jersey Boulevard.
The Port Jersey Railroad is a unique terminal railroad, having started operations in 1970 and consists of only 2.4 miles of trackage. It consists solely within the Port Jersey distribution center complex located in Jersey City. Staff consists of only two employees, and the PJRR exists solely to serve itself and it's customers within the complex.
